I get that all the time, and I'm never sure what I should say. What I'm tempted to say is it's a story about interesting people caught in unusual circumstances and dealing with them in fascinating ways. Oh, by the way, there is a murder and it gets solved.

Mike OrenduffMike Orenduffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09390940407971455613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7445048503136822514.post-35529216574390522682010-12-08T20:19:14.417+00:002010-12-08T20:19:14.417+00:00Hi L.J.,

I remember working with my Panamanian daughter-in-law on LOCATION LOCATION (which is set there) and I had a great name working until she called me and said I'd better change it or "they'll come after you!" I took her word for it and changed the name, fast!Kit Sloanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06350930686603843133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7445048503136822514.post-3149575120145864382010-12-08T18:26:53.090+00:002010-12-08T18:26:53.090+00:00Great Q&A! Each new Kit Sloane book brings built-in anticipation and I am never disappointed. Margot and Max are like dear friends who offer a glimpse into a world in which I’ll never be involved. When the suspense builds, I have to remember to breathe. Annie’s covers are awesome and provide the perfect lead-in to what’s about to happen when we get inside. Thanks for the hours of entertainment – now on to ‘The Magician.’ I can’t wait to see what that nice character Nancy Barton is all about!Nancy Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12521817782130054179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7445048503136822514.post-52127411449997937442010-12-08T05:45:06.605+00:002010-12-08T05:45:06.605+00:00Hey, Kit Sloane! Dang! Other things must wait, like sleep. HAHAHA! I've loved each of your novels and every time I begin your latest creation I am newly amazed at this simple fact--you are THE Atmospheric Diva! Btw, your covers are bionic, Annie is pure talent to the bone.

My two cents on Hollywood is why not write what you know so well when it's a topic that obviously fascinates the entire globe! You rock lady Margot!

Don't change a hare for me!
babs lakey~babshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09315173647007282326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7445048503136822514.post-79603090645588410092010-12-08T02:22:59.409+00:002010-12-08T02:22:59.409+00:00I couldn't agree with you more, Donna. And, oh, those wonder neighborhoods!

And dear Jenny, my books do not need to be read in any order at all. I have to read EXTREME CUISINE now--I'm regretting not reading your series in order. At any rate, they do seem like novels--mystery novels--which I didn't know was such an oxymoron ;) Keep 'em coming, even if Hollywood wasn't (to me) a metaphor for a larger part of the world, some of us are fascinated by inside scoops!Jenny Milchmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04410805792044518458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7445048503136822514.post-80869881688058363102010-12-07T22:58:06.193+00:002010-12-07T22:58:06.193+00:00Yes, it's finally out there. By the way, if anyone needs the BEST how-to book, try G.Miki Hayden's THE NAKED WRITER. I find I still have to use it way toooo often... In it she takes all the grammar mistakes her students make over and over again and explains how NOT to do make the same mistakes. Labels are confining, especially for writers, and there is nothing real in reality t.v.. And even if there was, if I wanted reality, I would live in it, instead of watching it on t.v..

And deep down I think everyone has a morbid fascination with Hollywood types, even down here in New Orleans where Angelina and Brad can walk through the French Quarter with nary a nod in their direction (put Drew Brees or Jeremy Shockey from the Saints on that same street and you'd have a mob scene.)

Can't wait to read the latest. And if you ever get burned out writing, you'd have a great career at interviewing!

Holli Castillo
Gumbo Justice
Jambalaya Justice coming 2011Holli Castillohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15976235735822063166noreply@blogger.com
