You sculpt terrific characters, but it's your gift of gab that seals the deal. I could read two of your characters chewing the fat for a hundred pages. Thanks for sharing it all these years. That and your sly sense of humor. It was an honor to meet you at Watchung Booksellers.
Congrats Nigel for getting the king to drop by Sea Minor. :)Thomas Pluckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17008022962076648740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7445048503136822514.post-15602771375511710302011-03-08T04:51:40.761+00:002011-03-08T04:51:40.761+00:00What Austin said. He said to Mr Pelecanos that he was the writer who'd used a city almost as a character better than anybody else. Mr Pelecanos (and I'm paraphrasing)thanked him and told him not to be daft; the best of all is Lawrence Block with Matt Scudder and New York. If you can be complemented so highly by writers like that, you're definitely the tops.
Larry, thanks.Nigel Birdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05529578665251906089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7445048503136822514.post-3341321228399759662011-03-02T14:54:33.460+00:002011-03-02T14:54:33.460+00:00Witty and charming as always. This is indeed a treat to have the prolific, uber-talented author, Mr. Block "dance with himself" on Sea Minor ~ awesome job, I might add. I'm a Scudder fan, and I've also enjoyed LB's short stories, such as "Like a Bone in the Throat" which is featured in the BEST AMERICAN NOIR OF THE CENTURY collection.Kathleen A.
